This past summer saw the release of the Rosebuds fifth album, Loud Planes Fly Low. Representing both a musical and a personal evolution, the formerly married core band members Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp worked at redefining their relationship as friends and bandmates leading up to and through the writing and recording of the record–a process that yielded an intimate and honest result. As Kelly put it in an interview with MKOB, “The vibe of the record is the honest truth about what was happening between us every step of the way. Every moment of this record is meaningful in some very real way.”
Immediately following the album’s release, the band embarked on a two-month long tour in support of the record. Taking only a brief break afterwards, Ivan and Kelly hit the road again, with playing dates throughout October. The Rosebuds closed out that last leg of touring with an energetic performance at the Rock & Roll Hotel for their District fans, which we were able to capture for AON.
