Today sees the kick off of the Lower Dens‘ late summer/fall tour with a show tonight at Baltimore’s Metro Gallery. The band, originally assembled by Jana Hunter in 2009 in an effort to have a full time crew surrounding her on stage, launches off from her solo work into its own sound, comprised of fuzzy, lo-fi, drone pop tunes.
Back in the spring, we got a chance to catch the band performing live at Baltimore’s Floristree, as part of an amazing line up that included Double Dagger and Future Islands. The video above gives only a snapshot of the night.
Lower Dens has recently released a full-length album, Twin-Hand Movement on Gnomonsong, and they’ve have shared a couple of songs off of that record below.
