Don’t let the mixtapes name fool you, rapper Phil Adé may have already hit the big leagues as the first artist signed to Raheem DeVaughn and Andre “Dre The Mayor” Hopson’s 368 Music Group label. It was clear the local rapper has quite a following, evidenced by his big entrance into Commonwealth from a wrapped van with an entourage.

The block stayed hot as the store had to turn away people at the door in order to close at a decent time, many fans and new heads alike (us at AON included) came out to listen to the young emcee’s Starting On JV mixtape, currently downloadble from 368 Music Group, and honestly we were pretty surprised. Containing a combination of original beats by local heavy-hitters like Best Kept Secret, remixes of familiar tracks by N.E.R.D. and Wale, and even some samples from extremely-syncopated electro songs.

Check out some scenes from the bash, and listen to “Hollywood” below.
