Philadelphia is certainly a town that loves weird and wonderful music. It’s sometimes spastic, sometimes stoned; it’s pretty, it’s pop, though just as often it’s not.

This month, Br’er came down to visit us in DC, to share some brotherly love with AON’s readers. They came in a rather stripped down form, performing acoustically as a duo.

Their sound is much more easily consumed than described, but (at least in this form) might somewhat resemble Stephin Merritt covering Neutral Milk Hotel, with some touches of Beirut peeking through at times. It is strangely beautiful, and we were thrilled to play hosts. The band starts a two month tour in a couple of weeks, hopefully you get an opportunity to check them out. Their latest release is a 7″, which is available now from Edible Onion. And as usual, our vimeo channel features even more from this performance.
